Nigeria Visa Category Respective Requirement :

Expatriates or Foreign Nationals require a visa to visit Nigeria. Here are the visa categories and requirements as administered and Authorized by the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Ministry of Interior.

Subject to Regularization (STR) Visa

The Nigerian Subject to Regularization (STR) Visa is a type of visa issued by the Nigerian government to foreign nationals who have been offered employment in Nigeria. It is a temporary visa that allows the Expatriate to enter Nigeria and Stay For 90 Days while awaiting the completion of the formalities required for long-term residency and work permits. Category of Expatriate Issued STR Visa Includes Employment Class, Niger Wife (Getting Married to a Nigerian Man) and Special Immigration Status. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian STR Visa Vignette on Passport Booklet Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Online Visa Form Application Slip (See Visa Fees HERE)
  • Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Return/onward ticket

Stated Below are the Requirements For STR Visa (WORK/EMPLOYMENT):

After the Expatriate has been cleared at the port (Airport / Seaport/Land Border the are allowed to Stay for 90 Days (3 Months) in order to Process the Regularization of Stay in Nigeria. Note that: STR Visa are granted to foreign nationals who have been offered employment in Nigeria. STR Visa Processing can be processed in the Immigration State Command of the Expatriate. E.g: Lagos (Nigeria Immigration Service, Alagbon Close Ikoyi). Listed Below are Document to be Filed for the Regularization processing.

  • Application Letter “Requesting of Regularization of Stay of the Expatriate” Must be in colored Letter Head (A4)
  • Letter of Employment
  • Acceptance of IR (Immigration Responsibilities)
  • Acceptance of Job Offer Letter
  • STR Visa Stamped on Passport Booklet
  • Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Passport Must Have STR Vignette (Stamped 90 Days Validity)
  • CERPAC Application Form With Receipt Be Purchased in Any Polaris Bank Nationwide
  • Bank Payment Receipt
  • Business Permit Issued By Ministry of Interior
  • Company CAC Certificate
  • OLD CERPAC CARD (Only Application For Renewal)
  • Business Quota stating Company Expatriate Slot with their respective positions.
  • File Will the Endorsed by the Officers in Charge of Visa and Residency Section of the State Command where the STR Visa is being processed.
  • File are Forwarded to the State Command CERPAC Production Center for Issuance of Nigeria Green Card.

NOTE: After Successful Regularization of the Expatriate, CERPAC Nigerian Green Card Shall be Issued to Expatriate Which Has to be Renewed Along with the stated above Supporting Documents.

Tourist Visa

Tourist Visa is Issued to Expatriate Traveling to Nigeria for the Purpose of Tour and of which they are prohibited for employment (AND CAN ONLY Allow to stay for 30 Days) However if the expatriate decided to Extend his/her Stay, They can apply for Visa Extension OR E-Pass. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian Toursit Visa Vignette on Passport Booklet and Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Hotel reservations or invitation letter from a host in Nigeria
  • Passport photos
  • Return/onward ticket
  • Acceptance of IR (Immigration Responsibilities)

Business Visa

Business Visa is Issued to Expatriate Traveling to Nigeria for the Purpose of Business and of which they are prohibited for employment (AND CAN ONLY Allow to stay for 30 Days) However if the expatriate decided to Extend his/her Stay, They can apply for Visa Extension OR E-Pass. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian Business Visa Vignette on Passport Booklet Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)

Transit Visa

A Nigerian Transit Visa allows foreign nationals to enter Nigeria temporarily for the sole purpose of continuing their journey to another destination outside of the country. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian Transit Visa Vignette on Passport Booklet Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Return/onward ticket
  • Confirmed Tickets: Present your confirmed flight tickets to your final destination.
  • Must Be traveling to a destination outside of Nigeria.
  • Validity: Usually for a short duration, typically 7 days or less.
  • May require a hotel reservation if staying More than a Day in Nigeria.

Temporary Work Permit (TWP) Visa

The Temporary Work Permit (TWP) Visa in Nigeria is designed for foreign nationals who are invited to the country by Nigerian companies to perform short-term specialized tasks. This Visa Class is Purposely Issued to expatriate who came to Nigeria for professional consultancy. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian Temporal Work Visa (TWP) Vignette on Passport Booklet Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Return/onward ticket
  • Formal Letter of Invitation From the Host/Company
  • Hotel reservations or accommodation Proof from a host in Nigeria
  • Proof of Qualifications and Experience
  • Passport photographs

Student Visa

This is for Foreigners who intend to be in Nigeria to come and Study and must have met with all requirement before he/she could be granted Visa. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • Valid Visa Application Copy, Endorsement of Nigerian Student Visa For Lebanese Citizens Vignette on Passport Booklet Valid passport (Not Less Than Six Month Validity)
  • Be accepted into a recognized educational institution in Nigeria.
  • Be able to Proof sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and return travel.
  • Admission Letter: A formal letter of acceptance from the Nigerian educational institution.
  • Medical Certificate must be presented as health Proof
  • Police Clearance Certificate from home country.
  • Proof of Hostel or Accommodation in Nigeria.
  • Acceptance of IR (Immigration Responsibilities)

Nigeria Visa General Fee

Niger Wife

The Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) is a one-time document that permits foreign nationals to reside and work in Nigeria. Commonly referred to as the “Niger Wife green card,” the CERPAC is a favored choice for foreign spouses of Nigerian citizens. Stated Below are the Requirements:

  • 90 Days Visa Stamped on Passport Booklet
  • Consent Letter From Nigeria Husband / Host
  • Proof of Accommodation or Hotel
  • Marriage Certificate From Ministry of Interior Marriage Registry.
  • Approval Letter From Ministry of Interior
  • CERPAC Application Form With Receipt Be Purchased in Any Polaris Bank Nationwide
  • Bank Payment Receipt

e-Visa – VISA on Arrival (VOA)

The VOA is a single-entry visa that allows the Foreigners (ONLY FOR Business or Tourist Purpose) to remain in Nigeria for thirty (30) days starting from their arrival date. This can be extended for an additional twenty-six (26) days at no official cost (Visa Extension) and further extended to a total of 90 days (Epass), with the payment of a statutory fee of USD 200 and a formal request submitted to the Nigeria Immigration State Command. To receive the authorization for a VOA, travelers must provide the necessary documents and complete the payment process on the NIS application portal. The visa fees vary based on the traveler’s nationality. After the payment is made, applications are reviewed, and approvals are generally issued within 72 hours if everything is in order.
